Paul Erdos, was the world's most prolific mathematician of all times. He has been called the pilgrim of mathematics, because he adjusted his life to dedicate maximum amount of time to research. He had no family, no house, and lived out of a suitcase.
Paul Erdos is one of the most famous example of GENIUS & ECCENTRIC personality. He had a special vocabulary of his own; God was 'the Supreme Fascist' or SF. 'Bosses' were women, and 'slaves' were men. 'Epsilon' were little children. Mathematician who stopped doing math had 'died'; people who had actually died had 'left'. To him, music was 'noise'. And he remarked famously, 'A mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems'.
Erdos 'left' at the age of 83, in 1996, having published 1525 papers in his lifetime. His epitaph reads: 'I have finally stopped getting dumber'.
To do something you love, and to do it all life, with such dedication is a thing that should be learned from the legendary Paul Erdos.
